The Skin Lab:
What's it like to receive a treatment in a mobile skin lab?
My patients say that the mobile lab feels as cozy as any treatment room that they have been in. There may be some faint outside noises, but they are muffled by the soft music. When it rains, patients tend to find that the sound of raindrops pattering the roof is especially soothing.

What are your COVID-19 protocols?
All patients will be asked to provide their proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to receiving treatment. Between every patient, linens are changed and all surfaces are thoroughly wiped down with PREempt™ RTU disinfectant solution. All medical implements are also soaked in PREempt™ RTU after each use for three minutes.
Is there temperature control to keep me comfortable during my treatment?
Yes! There is a heater to warm you up in the winter, and air flow fans to keep you cool in the summer. Heating pads on the bed make it nice and toasty when you jump in.
Logistics:
What is your geographic range?
The Skin Lab serves most neighbourhoods in Metro Vancouver. To check whether the lab can come to your area, submit a request via the booking form.
Will I have to wait until the van is close to me/servicing clients in my area for an appointment?
The lab does not currently have a set location schedule. Appointments are being booked by request, so get in touch!
Do you have a policy about inclement weather?
I assess weather conditions on a day-to-day basis. When it comes to neighbourhoods in higher elevations, it’s possible that I would need to cancel if conditions are snowy and slippery. I aim to provide you with 24–48 hours’ notice if the forecast indicates that I may need to reschedule your appointment.

How do I book?

What days of the week and times of day do you offer treatments?
I offer treatments Monday through Friday, 10AM–6PM. Saturday appointments are sometimes available.
How far in advance should I book?
I am currently booking 4–6 weeks in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?
Due to the nature of a mobile business, making changes to my schedule can be a complex task. To help me accommodate each of my patients, I appreciate being given as much notice as possible in the event that you need to cancel. Please provide me with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged.
What payment methods do you accept?
Online retail purchases can be made with all major credit cards or Interac. For treatments, I accept credit cards, cash, and e-transfer payments.
How soon do you arrive before my appointment?
I usually arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment time to set up. When everything is ready, I will text you at the mobile number you provide me with and meet you at the side of the van.
What do I need to know before arriving for my appointment?
Come as you are! There is no need to remove your makeup, as I will cleanse your skin prior to treatment. A curtain allows privacy for you to undress and get into the treatment bed. I may ask you to remove your jewelry—try to leave it at home, but I will also have a safe place to put it during your treatment.
Can more than one person have a treatment at the same time?
No, a Skin Lab treatment is a private experience with a single treatment bed. If more than one person would like to receive a treatment at the same location, please allow for time between appointments for sanitation and set-up.
Do you offer group bookings?
Yes! You are welcome to book for a group—keep in mind that the treatments will be completed back to back, not at the same time. Depending on the start time, I can usually accommodate a group of four.
Is a deposit required?
For parties of two or more, a $150 deposit is required.
Skincare / Other:
If I’m planning a treatment and would like to purchase skincare as well, can I do that at the time of my appointment?
Yes! Please include the skincare you would like in your booking request, and it will be ready for you to pick up at your appointment. Advance notice is required as the lab does not carry skincare inventory at all times.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! You can order a printed gift certificate here. If you would like a digital gift certificate that can be emailed instead, please specify this in the order comments.
